Acceptance/Maintenance Testing
Acceptance Testing
Acceptance testing covers suggested field tests and assessments to check newly installed electrical equipment and systems before they are energized. These assessments ensure that the tested electrical equipment/systems will function properly after being energized. The test results are compared to the applicable standards and manufacturers tolerances.
Maintenance Testing
Maintenance testing standards suggest field tests and assessments of existing electrical equipment/systems before re-energizing. These assessments will determine whether or not the tested electrical equipment/systems are still suitable for continued service. The test results are compared to the applicable standards and manufacturers tolerances.
There are four (4) main points to check for every system or piece of equipment:
- Visual and mechanical inspection
- Electrical tests
- Test values – Visual and mechanical
- Test values – Electrical
The goal is the minimize downtime and maximize life expectancy of the electrical equipment and system.
SDM METRO performs acceptance/maintenance testing to the NETA testing specifications.
